the boy is born!
It took him long enough to decide to show up, but once he did, he came out in a big hurry. Mom and Baby did just fine.

Weight: 7 pounds, 8 ounces
Length: 19 inches
Hair: pretty much reddish
Eyes: dark at birth, but look like they may eventually be green
the bingo pool
We should have thought of this sooner, but we didn't. And by the time we did, The Boy was literally hours away from being born (though we didn't know that then — we figured we still had a few days left). Anyway, we did a quickie e-mail contest to guess Dalton's weight, length, hair color, eye color and other things. You can see the guesses of those we got to when there was still time. Nobody got it all right (except The Boy).
why "bingo"?
Just after we found out she was pregnant, Anitta had a dream about the baby. In her dream, she had named him "Bingo" and was singing the song to him. Everyone knows how it goes: "B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O and Bingo was his name-O." Anitta woke up singing this and throughout the pregnancy we called The Boy "Bingo." Some family members thought we were nuts — maybe they were afraid we were really going to name the kid "Bingo." Well, obviously we didn't — and actually, we haven't called him "Bingo" since he was born. The Boy just doesn't look like a "Bingo." We have plenty of other nicknames for him, however...
